MARION, Ohio (12-8-2006) - Like its name implies, TODCO's new ArmorPlate(TM) overhead truck doors possess the extra strength of steel for heavy freight trailer and truck body applications.
According to Scott Blackford, TODCO vice president of sales and marketing, the panels of TODCO's ArmorPlate(TM) overhead truck doors incorporate the proven technology of high-strength steel skins bonded to a solid high-density polyethylene composite core.
"The steel skins have the durability to stand up to heavy freight, frequent stops and grueling over-the-road weather conditions," Blackford said.
In addition, the polycomposite core is impervious to moisture, adding protection for cargo, while providing extra structural strength.
"This extra-strength door has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio," Blackford adds. In fact, our ArmorPlate door weighs in at about the same as a one-inch plywood door. But it's thinner (13mm) and more weather resistant."
In addition, ArmorPlate can be painted or can incorporate pre-painted coil to match fleet color specifications. Its standard MagniCoat(TM) rivets protect against rust, without the extra cost of stainless steel.
