Medium Wave Infrared Oven Takes the Wrinkle Out of Seats
Wisconsin Infrared Systems' model ISC-102-4Z, a Medium Wave Infrared Seat Dewrinkling Oven, was manufactured for the automotive seating industry to remove wrinkles from leather, cloth and vinyl seats.
This infrared oven was specifically designed to contour to the many different shapes of vehicle seats. It has multiple zones to provide optimum heat to the different areas of the seats. The infrared heating panels are fabricated of type 430 stainless steel, and can be moved in multiple directions. They utilize medium-wave quartz goldenrod tube technology and feature easy snap-in ceramic blocks. The energy is emitted from the heaters in the medium wave range, which has proven to be ideal for leather and vinyl.
This type of IR heater cools and heats very quickly, which allows them to be turned off when a seat is not in position, and then quickly turned back on as required. This can save substantial energy and time when compared to other IR heaters.
The oven is constructed using heavy-duty tubular steel and 18 gauge sheet metal walls with 2" of insulation. The equipment features one of the most up-to-date control packages available, using a PLC to store multiple recipes so different styles of seats can be heated with minimal changeover time.
