Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator includes oven failure alarm.

Press Release Summary:

Housed in low-profile case measuring 36.0 x 26.5 x 8.5 mm, Model OX0325-1000-100 features 10 MHz CMOS output and frequency tolerance of ±0.02 ppm over 0-70°C temperature range. Oscillator runs from 5 V, draws 470 mA at switch-on, and averages less than 220 mA at 25°C after warm-up. Phase noise is -165 dBc/Hz at greater than 10 KHz offset. Mechanical shock, thermal shock and vibration can be specified to MIL standards.

On Behalf of RFX, Laptech Precision, Announces OX0325-1000-100 Ultra Low Profile Oscillator with Oven Alarm

On Behalf of RFX, Laptech Precision, announces OX0325-1000-100 Ultra Low Profile Oscillator with Oven Alarm.

RFX Ltd of Livingston, Scotland has just introduced the OX0325-1000-100, a low-profile addition to their popular OS936 range of miniature OCXO oscillators, with a 10 MHz CMOS output. Frequency tolerance is +/-0.02 ppm over 0-+70C, and it is housed in a low-profile case, 36.0 x 26.5 mm and only 8.5 mm high. The oscillator runs from 5V and draws 470mA at switch-on and averages less than 220 mA (1.1W) at 25C after warm-up. The warm-up time is 2 minutes maximum to +/-0.1 ppm of nominal. Ageing is +/-0.5 ppm, maximum, over 10 years. The phase noise is excellent at -165 dBc/Hz, at >10 KHz offset. Mechanical shock, thermal shock and vibration can be specified to MIL standards. Electronic frequency trim of +/- 1 ppm is provided, as is an oven-failure alarm output.

The custom design of high-specification frequency references, to industrial and military standards has been the forte of RFX Ltd, based in Livingston, Scotland, for over 15 years. The RFX OCXO designs are amongst the smallest in the world with very efficient use of power during warm up and operation. New versions, including SMD designs are evolving from an on-going research and development programme to meet the increasingly stringent demands of industry, and this particular oscillator uses a four-point crystal mount for improved resistance to vibration, for example. Frequencies in the range 5 to 250 MHz are possible in this package with custom designs.

The company has recently acquired Laptech Precision Inc. ( www.laptech.com), established in Ontario, Canada in 1972, who employ some of the world's best quartz crystal design engineers and highly skilled production personnel. Laptech Precision provides RFX with a secure source of very high quality quartz blanks, particularly the SC-cut units used in all of their OCXO's.

Applications of RFX Ltd products include precision measuring equipment, GPS satellite navigation systems, satellite positioning systems, airborne systems, mobile telephone base stations, ATM, SDH, STM, SONET, WAN and LAN Networks.
