Outstanding Dotmatics UGM Draws Record Attendance from Across the Globe


BISHOP'S STORTFORD, England – Exceptional event showcased next generation informatics solutions, several customer case studies and an unexpected after dinner guest



Dotmatics, a leading provider of scientific informatics solutions and services, announced today that this year's European User Group Meeting (EUGM) held at Down Hall Country House Hotel, Hertfordshire was the largest and most successful to date. During the event Dotmatics introduced a new generation of laboratory informatics solutions, including knowledge and process management as well as data analysis and visualisation.



Customers from the research industry presented their use of the Dotmatics Platform and the value it has brought to their organisations. Presenters represented Galderma, Basilea Pharmaceutica, Pulmocide, Redx Pharma, MRC Technology and The Institute of Cancer Research to name a few. The event included a lively dinner with a surprise standup set from comedian Henning Wehn, who delighted the crowd with his international humour.



A new high-performance release of D4O, Dotmatics add-on for Microsoft Office applications, featuring a newly designed enumeration tool was revealed. In addition, the audience welcomed the introduction of new user-friendly configurations of Studies Notebook to manage formulations, analytical and organic experiment design and multistep reactions. New features for handling multiple biological entities, such as cell lines and Antibody Conjugates, etc. were also showcased as part of the new version of the biologicals registration module, Bioregister.



Dotmatics introduced an improved version of Cascade, a recently released module that enables users to request laboratory tests and track results in real time, an excellent collaborative tool. In addition, a new and improved version of Vortex, Dotmatics flagship analytics and visualisation software, was launched during the event. It contains a completely new set of graphics and analytic tools that will help scientists spot trends and find data outliers rapidly, thus accelerating research outcomes.



Dr Mike Hartshorn, CSO at Dotmatics highlighted the progress that the company has made during the last year, "We continue to invest in development and innovation, ensuring that we continue to deliver state-of-the-art solutions. For example, we have delivered applications for mobile devices such as our chemical drawing package Elemental ahead of the competitors. The numerous new versions of Dotmatics' solutions shown at this User Group Meeting demonstrate our ongoing commitment to investment in RD."

The event was closed by Alastair Hill, CTO at Dotmatics who presented the Dotmatics roadmap and vision for 2014/15. "Our plans for the forthcoming year are to continue our commitment to enabling scientific discovery and collaboration through best-in-class mobile and cloud applications. We continue to cement our presence in North America as well as in Asia Pacific with the exponential expansion of both teams."



The EUGM concluded with an extremely positive and enthusiastic atmosphere and participants expressing their satisfaction with the event as well as Dotmatics' solutions and services. Dr Fabrice Turlais, Group Leader, Screening and Compound Management at Cancer Research Technology said, "I always enjoy Dotmatics' meetings as they offer great opportunities for networking and hearing about the ways in which other groups and organisations have found solutions to common challenges.
