OSRAM's Joule(TM) LED Signal System Featured on the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ

HILLSBORO, N.H., March 12 - OSRAM SYLVANIA's Joule LED Signal System is creating a new look for the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ as it makes the rounds on the U.S. auto show circuit this year. The 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January, features the OSRAM Joule LED System technology.

The Joule Signal System on the Malibu LTZ makes it possible to present a distinctive, colorless lens for the turn, brake, and tail light functions with rich, red lights when the signal functions are operating. "OSRAM's Joule system is at the forefront of the next generation of LED lighting solutions in the automotive industry," said David Hulick, global product manager for automotive auxiliary lighting. "With the convenience of its plug & play installation plus full turn, brake, and tail light functions, the Joule Signal System offers a unique opportunity for manufacturers to offer a cutting-edge product to their customers, without the cost and difficulty of a custom system."

As the first standardized LED system, Joule promises to make LED lighting technology more accessible in the marketplace by providing OEM designers with a reliable, industry standardized LED light source that simplifies the design process and can be utilized by many vehicle platforms for rear combination lamp assemblies (RCLs).

OSRAM SYLVANIA and OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, Inc. work together to offer a complete line of cutting-edge, award-winning, light emitting diode (LED) products for the automotive industry. Their product line spans the full range, from individual LED components to Standardized Automotive LED Systems. OSRAM LED products help the auto industry take advantage of the functionality, durability, energy-savings, and styling potential that LEDs can provide.
