Agilent Technologies Introduces Oscilloscopes with Broadest Measurement Capability, Industry's Biggest Display
Six New Models Offer Industry's Only Built-in Logic and Protocol Analysis, Widest Range of Debug and Compliance Applications
SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 1, 2009 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today expanded its mixed-signal and digital-storage oscilloscope portfolio with six new models that comprise its next-generation Infiniium 9000 Series. These scopes offer the broadest measurement capability with true analog bandwidths up to 4 GHz, impressive scope performance, and built-in logic and protocol analysis. Each model, equipped with the industry's largest screen -- a 15-inch (38.1 cm) XGA LCD display -- comes in a highly portable package that is just 9 inches (22.86 cm) deep and weighs only 25 pounds (11.3 kg).
Agilent's 9000 Series oscilloscopes are the world's first scopes with integrated logic analysis channels and a protocol analyzer viewer for buses such as PCIeTM and USB. These integrated features extend scope functionality, making it easier for engineers to test complex designs, and giving companies higher oscilloscope utilization for better return on capital equipment.
Design and test teams in nearly every electronic industry, including computer, communications, semiconductor, aerospace/defense, automotive and wireless industries, continue to produce more sophisticated hardware designs. Oscilloscopes are the primary tool to test and debug those designs, and engineers require increasingly broad measurement capability to deliver robust products on schedule. Agilent's new Infiniium 9000 Series oscilloscopes have the bandwidth to handle faster speeds, and they incorporate both logic and protocol analyzer capabilities to address the newer technologies being widely deployed in today's embedded designs.
"We use scopes extensively during product development," said Adrian Hernandez, hardware development engineer at Xilinx Corp. "With three instruments in a single box - and applications like jitter and FPGA dynamic probe - the Infiniium 9000 Series represents a significant advancement in debugging systems that include FPGAs." Xilinx programmable solutions fuel product innovation in diverse markets worldwide and are designed for a wide range of applications.
Benefits of the Agilent Infiniium 9000 Series oscilloscopes include:
"Agilent has been the fastest-growing scope vendor since 1997," said Scott Sampl, vice president and general manager of Agilent's oscilloscopes business. "We focus our engineering efforts on delivering the measurement capability our customers need. The Infiniium 9000 Series has the performance and application support today's engineers have asked for, along with logic and protocol analysis, in a package that's just impressive."
