Orion LX Goes to Super Bowl XLVI

An Orion LX(TM) Weather Station, manufactured by Columbia Weather Systems, provided weather data to the Indianapolis Department of Homeland Security during the recent Super Bowl weekend.

The weather station is mounted on the Verizon Mobile Command Center, a 51-foot Featherlite trailer. The interior of the trailer is lined with monitors displaying WeatherMaster(TM) Software.

"Having this trailer allows Verizon to operate in a very adverse environment in the case of disasters," said Richard Price, "as well as in situations where there are limited facilities to provide a base of operations, as in the Super Bowl." Price is Chief Business Continuity Officer for Verizon.

Columbia Weather Systems manufactures weather monitoring equipment used by industry and public safety agencies world-wide.
