Orifice Unions Regulate Process Flow
A line of orifice unions that can be supplied with a variety of different size orifice plates for the precise regulation of process flow, specific pressure drop, and low pressure blanking applications is available from SMA Controls, division of ESCO Technologies, of Medfield, Massachusetts.
SMA Orifice Unions are available for pipe sizes ranging from ¼" to 2" and feature 316L stainless steel orifice plates with drilled holes from 1/64" to 1" for regulating process flow. Providing a tab that is readily visible from the outside and stamped with the hole size, the orifice opening can be easily identified without breaking the union or shutting down the line.
Suitable for 3,000- and 6,000 psi systems, SMA Orifice Unions provide 45° cone-to-ball, metal-to-metal seating and are made from carbon steel with threaded or socketweld end connections, or optional 304L and 316L stainless steel and conform to ASTM and ANSI specifications. Applications include high vacuum-, fluid handling-, and flow- and process control systems.
