Ergonomically-Designed Order Picker with AC Drive Provides Fast, Safe and Efficient Material Handling
Model ECE 20, a new AC-powered horizontal order picker that increases warehouse and distribution center productivity, is available from Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp., Richmond, Va. The ergonomically designed truck features a fixed stand-on platform allowing order pickers to handle loads safely and efficiently. An optional hydraulically raised operator platform positions the operator close to the load for comfortable order picking, even from the second level. The trucks are ideally suited for material handling applications in warehouses and distribution centers.
The ECE 20 truck has a high performance 24V 3-phase AC motor that provides powerful acceleration, reaching a maximum travel speed of 6.5 mph with the standard drive. An optional Rapid Drive is also available for applications that have longer travel distances and require higher top end speeds. The truck uses a state-of-the-art electronic controller that automatically regulates acceleration, travel speed and braking according to operator preferences.
The ECE 20 has three steering options: a mechanical tiller handle is standard; an electric tiller handle control for extremely simple steering, and a patented JET Pilot controller that combines the advantages of an electric handle and steering wheel so that the truck can be easily manipulated with one hand. The truck has hydraulic lifting/lowering using a high-pressure pump with 2.0kW motor.
Order Picker Details
The ECE 20 has a 50-inch long operator's "cab" and is available with a variety of fork lengths, from 39-inches up to 94-inches. The order picker has a 9-inch diameter, 3-inch wide drive wheel and a 7.1-inch diameter, 2.6-inch wide support wheel on the chassis and a tandem load wheel design near the end of the forks that use 3.3-inch diameter, 3.3-inch wide wheels. Maximum load capacity is 5,000 pounds with a travel speed of 6.5 mph without load and 5.3 mph with load. All electric and hydraulic components are easily accessible for maintenance.
