Orbital Welding Power Supply uses inverter technology.

Press Release Summary:

Compact, water-cooled ORBIMAT 165C can be used to control welding heads that are capable of cutting 3-275 mm OD tubes, pipes, and fittings. Full package, consisting of controller, power supply, and cooling unit, weighs 24 kg with full coolant level. Inverter technology throughout machine enables it to work with any input voltage from 80-260 Vdc, while Compact Flash port on front panel allows welding data to be stored or transferred.

Original Press Release:

The NEW ORBIMAT 165C Basic

Orbimatic have further strengthened their position as the world innovators in the manufacture of Orbital TIG Welding Equipment with the introduction of the ORBIMAT 165C Basic power supply. This power supply can be used to control welding heads which can give an operating range from 3mm to 275mm outside diameter tubes, pipes and fittings.

Mr Steve Purnell of Orbimatic GmbH said 'This power supply is the most compact water cooled orbital welding power supply available in the world today. This machine pushes the limits of orbital welding power supplies further than ever seen before. When you consider that this is a full package containing controller, power supply and cooling unit, it is still only about the size of most controller/power supply combinations.'

The ORBIMAT 165C Basic is a very compact unit and weighs only 24 kg with the cooling system full of coolant, bringing below the single persons lifting limit. The ORBIMAT 165C Basic is much smaller than any other machine available on the market today.

This system also sees the introduction of inverter technology throughout the machine enabling it to work with any input voltage between 80 and 260 VDC, which makes it ideal for application both in the workshop and on site.

Another improvement is the addition of a 'Compact Flash' port on the front panel of the machine which allows welding data to stored or transferred. The system also sees the introduction of low noise, long life components which will make the equipment more user friendly in laboratory environments.

The ORBIMAT 165C Basic uses the same user friendly software as the industry proven ORBIMAT 160C and is easy to use with a simple menu system for ease of use. The ORBIMAT 165C Basic can be used with any ORBIMATIC welding head to give customers an excellent value for money orbital welding package.

Mr Purnell went on to say 'This shows just how committed Orbimatic are to the development of Orbital Welding Equipment. We have new developments which will be announced over the coming months which will see further improvements to our range. This will give Orbimatic the most modern equipment available to date, and our commitment to pioneering this type of equipment will continue and we will continue to push the limits.'
