New Sander From Metabo Provides Greater Results With Less Power



West Chester, PA, September 2005 -- Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, now offers a 1/3-sheet orbital finishing sander that matches orbital speed and torque to achieve greater results with lower power consumption. The new SR 20-23 sander is ideal for finishing a wide variety of materials including wood, plastics, metals, stone, plaster of Paris, and lacquered surfaces.

The SR 20-23's plastic microcellular polyurethane elastomere sanding plate ensures smooth, even finishing. The sander features a quick-change sandpaper system that incorporates clamps for strong gripping and tensioning of the sanding sheet. Sealed ball bearings and a die-cast aluminum bearing flange prevent dust from entering the mechanism, extending the life of the tool. The lightweight tool is vibration-free and weighs just 4.5 lbs. for greater operator comfort and control.

The 1.9 amp sander orbits 10,850 times per minute and has an orbit size of 1/10".
Metabo's Intec filter system for built-in dust collection and a selection of precut sandpaper ranging from 40 grit to 240 grit are available for the SR 20-30.
