New Metabo Sander Provides Greater Comfort and Increased Operator Control

West Chester, PA, October 2003 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, now offers a 1/3-sheet orbital finishing sander with a rubber-coated top that deadens vibration, providing greater operator comfort, and a two-position side handle for increased operator control. The new Sr356 sander is used for finishing a wide variety of materials including wood, plastics, and metals. Additionally, the new Sr356 has no protruding parts, making it ideal for sanding into corners or up against vertical sidepieces.

The new sander's die-cast aluminum base plate ensures smooth, even finishing. The Sr356 features a quick action sandpaper clamping system that incorporates rubberized pressure pads for strong gripping and tensioning of the sanding sheet. The Sr356 sander also has an auxiliary fan for self-contained dust collection or for an external vacuum hose connection, improving the operator's working environment by eliminating sanding dust from the job site.

For integral dust collection, the use of punched sandpaper is recommended. Metabo offers a selection of precut 1/3-sheet sanding papers in various grades for the Sr356 or users can purchase a 1/3-sheet paper punch (#31148) to cut their own sheets for the sander.
