Oracle Announces General Availability of Oracle® E-Business Suite Release 12

Enterprise Resource Planning Applications Simplify Doing Business Globally

NEW YORK, Jan. 31 // -- Today at Oracle's (NASDAQ:ORCL) global "Applications Unlimited" launch held on 6 continents over 24 hours, Oracle announced the general availability of the Oracle(R) E-Business Suite Release 12. Originally previewed at Oracle OpenWorld in the fall of 2006, the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 is designed to support businesses in today's global economy by enhancing the customers' ability to think globally to make better decisions, work globally to be more competitive and manage globally to help lower costs and improve performance. This announcement is continued proof of Oracle's "Applications Unlimited" program, the company's long-term plan to provide ongoing enhancements to current Oracle Applications.

The newly updated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications of the Oracle E-Business Suite provide a centralized financial architecture that enables higher levels of control and transparency while supporting diverse local accounting, tax and employee regulations and standards. The ERP applications of the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 also help customers lower costs with centralized set-up and maintenance of accounting, tax and banking rules.

"Centralization of subledger accounting rules minimizes set up and maintenance, providing greater financial control, and enforcing a consistent approach for true global accounting," says Carolyn Carter, Director of Global Oracle Accounting, Emerson Process Management of Emerson Tool Company. "Banks, taxes, payments, and accounting -- everything that becomes centralized will bring Emerson tremendous efficiencies."

Think Globally to Make Better Decisions

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 enables businesses to make informed decisions based on complete information from systems that cross regions and divisions. For example:

oOracle Profitability Manager enables companies to perform profitability
analysis and reporting along any dimension of global operations including
products, channels, segments and the ability to drill down to individual
customers.
oOracle Human Capital Management now includes specific role-based views
into data that enable organizations to make more informed, strategic and
tactical workforce decisions.
oOracle Project Portfolio Analysis helps organizations select projects
that are dispersed across geographies or lines of business and align them
to global business objectives. It provides the ability to choose, fund
and prioritize global projects based on what-if scenario analysis of
portfolios. In addition, Oracle Daily Business Intelligence for Projects
allows users to quickly assess summarized financial and operational
information, pinpoint issues and then drill down to specific project
performance and resource details.

Work Globally to be More Competitive

Companies can stay more competitive with the ability to operate globally and meet local compliance requirements. Within Oracle Financial Management, a flexible multiple ledger architecture enables businesses to apply a consistent method of financial reporting while still conforming to local accounting rules and regulations. For human capital management, Oracle offers expanded human resources localizations for a total of 30 countries that allow organizations to manage all employees within a single system adhering to local, in-country regulations. New features in Oracle Talent Management give organizations the ability to maximize workforce performance by combining objective setting and appraisal processes.

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 is competitively scalable and adaptable supporting global enterprise growth at a lower cost. For example, the new ledgers and ledger sets streamline processes and reporting across different legal entities. Productivity of shared services personnel can be dramatically increased with multiple operation access control (MOAC), enabling efficient processing of transactions across multiple operating units.

"We have 60 sets of books and see tremendous efficiencies with running processes across these sets of books using Oracle Ledger Sets," says Keith Dunkin, Finance Manager -- Systems & Support of Alcoa.

Manage Globally to Lower Costs and Increase Performance

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 makes it easier and less expensive to implement, manage and scale global applications. For example, Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 includes hundreds of services so that IT can easily integrate the E-Business Suite into cross-business, cross-product business flows. With an updated web services repository, Oracle enables lower cost integrations with third party applications and adaptable business processes. Additionally, Oracle has certified Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 on Oracle Fusion Middleware, which includes the ability to manage processes spanning heterogeneous applications.

The Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 is available immediately for traditional deployment, and is also available on demand via Oracle On Demand.
