Optronics® Revolutionizes High Definition Microsurgical Procedures with A New Line of HD Compatible C-Mount Video Adapters

Goleta, CA (October 21, 2009)-Optronics®, a global leader in the development of
innovative medical-grade high definition imaging products for microsurgery, introduced
QUINTUS(TM), a new line of full-featured precision crafted optical c-mount HD video
adapters for operating microscopes. The adapters are designed for the integration of
the Optronics Microcast HD high definition microscope cameras onto leading brands of
operating microscopes including Leica®, Moeller® and Zeiss® models.

"The Quintus line of HD compatible c-mount video adapters integrated with our HD
microscope cameras provide a feature-rich user experience in many microsurgical
specialties on any brand of surgical microscope." stated Richard Crandall, Director of
Business Development for Optronics. "These adapters offer fine focus and iris
adjustments including horizontal and vertical centering control enabling the surgeon to
maximize the benefits of high definition imaging on their existing operating microscope."

With the introduction of QUINTUS, Optronics continues the tradition of providing worldclass innovative product design that maximizes the benefits of their line of high definition microscope cameras. According to Mr. Crandall, "Our goal was to recreate the
surgeons' microscope viewing experience as seen through the oculars of the microscope ...with QUINTUS and the Microcast HD camera we have achieved it.

QUINTUS is designed with an industry standard c-mount interface which attaches directly to the c-mount of the Microcast HD camera head. Because the camera head has a lightweight, low-profile design it does not adversely affect the microscope balance.
