Baden, Switzerland, March 16, 2009 - ABB announced today that it has released the cross-industry version of its award-winning IndustrialIT cpmPlus Expert Optimizer software. Originally developed and implemented as an industry-specific application to improve operating performance and energy efficiency, with successful installations in more than 200 production facilities worldwide, Expert Optimizer's advanced process control capabilities have been extended and are now available to provide these same benefits to all process industry customers.
Expert Optimizer coordinates the optimal running parameters from the different parts of the process and immediately detects deviations among the different parts of the operation. Expert Optimizer is able to stabilize and then optimize the whole process, which helps plant management to reach profitability and sustainability goals. Implemented in more than 200 production facilities worldwide, Expert Optimizer has delivered substantial improvements in productivity and energy efficiency; typical production increases have ranged from 3 - 10%.
