Optically Clear Epoxy cures at room temperature.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for bonding, coating, sealing, and casting, EP30LV bonds to similar and dissimilar substrates. Once hardened, product provides electrical insulation with service operating temperature of -60 to +250°F. Formulation is 100% reactive and does not contain solvents or other volatiles. Bonds are rigid and resistant to water, oil, and most organic solvents. Epoxy offers tensile strength of greater than 9,500 psi and dielectric strength of 440 V/mil.

Original Press Release:

New Optically Clear Low Viscosity Epoxy

Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, N.J. has recently developed a new two component, room temperature curing epoxy for bonding, coating, sealing and casting called EP30LV. This compound is easy to apply and exhibits high physical strength properties. It offers both superior dimensional stability and high bond strength to similar and dissimilar substrates. The hardened epoxy is an electrical insulator. It has a service operating temperature range of -60°F to +250°F.

EP30LV has a low viscosity and is optically clear. It has a mix ratio of 5 to 1 by weight. Cures can be accelerated by the use of heat. This formulation is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. Linear shrinkage after cure is an exceptionally low 0.0003 inches/in. Bonds are rigid and resistant to water, oil, and most organic solvents. Additionally EP30LV is resistant to ETO, gamma radiation and cold sterilants.

Master Bond EP30LV has a tensile strength of >9,500 psi and a tensile modulus of >400,000 psi. It's dielectric strength is 440 volts/mil and it has a volume resistivity of >1016 ohm cm. For a 100 gram mass the working life is 60-75 minutes at room temperature.

EP30LV is available for use in ½ pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits. It is also available for purchase in convenient syringe applications.
