Optical Switch Fits LGX Compatible Frame
A new, optical switch for CATV, data distribution, network protection, development engineering, manufacturing test, system monitoring, and other applications is being introduced by M2 Optics, Inc. of San Marcos, CA.
The LFS Series Optical Switch is self-contained and features front panel receptacles and latching-type optical switches that route the signal in <10 ms. Offered in a variety of single- and multi-mode configurations, this compact switch can operate as a stand-alone switch (shown with optional plastic LGX module holder) or be integrated into a system.
Providing high reliability, stability, and high channel isolation, the LFS Series Optical Switch's single mode operating wavelengths are 1280-1340 nm and 1525-1625 nm, respectively, with <0.6 dB (typ) and <1.0 (max) dB inser-tion loss and multi-mode is 850-1350 nm with <0.5 dB (typ) and <0.8 (max). It is rated for >10,000,000 operations and is powered by a 9V alkaline battery.
