Original Press Release:

A New Pharmaceutical Optical Spray Characterisation System for Medical Device Quality Control

The EnVision QC system is the solution to generating FDA / Regulatory compliant data for drug delivery device development.

Oxford Lasers today announce their new EnVision Quality Control system to allow analysis of both Spray Pattern and Plume Geometry.  This new Envision QC system can be used to record and analyse sprays from both pressurised meter dose inhalers (pMDIs) and Nasal devices, a single platform for multiple devices.

To ensure the highest repeatability and consistency this new fully versatile system includes:

predefined measuring strategies at the “fully formed portion of the spray”

automatic device positioning

full system calibration for both plume geometry and spray pattern

Oxford Lasers have been selling Envision systems for the past five years, but this new product incorporates a fully FDA approved technique, conforming to all necessary published guidance, capable of automatically detecting the fully formed portion of the sprays. An additional benefit of the Envision QC system is that there are no hidden costs.

Oxford Lasers also offer an EnVision R&D, a product for the Research and Development market, which allows the user to analyse flow field vectors, droplet size and benefits from high frequency blurr free image capture.
