Elekon Industries Announces Smallest Reflective Optical Sensors

Torrance, CA, January 29, 2002... Elekon introduces the ERT-3280 Series, the smallest reflective optical sensors available. The ERT Series is a sub-miniature (2.7 mm x 3.2 mm x 1.4 mm) reflective high-speed sensor combining a high-output GaAs IRED with a high sensitivity phototransistor. This sensor is designed for applications requiring a light-weight device and a minimum installation space, such as object sensors, paper sensors, EOT/BOT sensors and other demanding applications.

The ERT Series features an optimum sensing distance of 1 mm, a switching speed of 30 uSec rise and 25 uSec fall times, operating voltage of -25° C to +850 C, and operates with an infrared wavelength of 940 nm. The ERT-3280 Series comes in a flat SMD compatible or PCB mount packaging.

The ERT-3280 Series is available now and pricing begins at $0.72 (US) each in quantities of 1000 and is available through Elekon's network of distributors, value-added resellers and system integrators in Asia, the United States and Europe.
