TTI announces the new low cost HyperTest HPT-5000 high performance loss test set with advanced features. The instrument comes in a heavy duty, water-resistant case for field use in all environments. Features include: automated dual wavelength bi-directional capability, communications on fiber under test, ¼ VGA screen, PC and printer connection, Real-Time automated testing of loss & ORL, storage for 1000 records, rechargeable battery (NiMH) power for 16 hour operation, dual wavelength modulated sources, tone detection capability, and many others. The large backlit graphics display enables the user to view the measurement values of the calibrated wavelengths in use, view the intuitive soft keys, and easily navigate the menus. This hand-held unit can measure: optical power, optical return loss, and optical loss.
