Edmund Industrial Optics Announces Optical Comparator
June 18, 2002, Barrington, NJ - Edmund Industrial Optics (EO) of Barrington, New Jersey has announced the release of the Mitutoyo PH-14LS Optical Comparator. This high-accuracy tool for quality inspection and metrology applications provides a bright, crisp, inverted image, and a programmable digital readout.
Magnification accuracy is 0.1% or less for contours, and 0.15% or less for a surface. Protractor's 14-inch diameter, fine-ground-glass screen has cross-hairs and provides a Vernier angle reading with resolution of 2 minutes.
The comparator's 16 X 6 inch workstage provides 8 X 4 inches of travel and a load capacity of 100 lb. Comparator comes equipped with factory-mounted linear glass scales and a standard 10X projection lens. A wide variety of accessories are available including 20X, 50X, and 100X projection lenses, a green filter for enhancing the sharpness of contour images, several scales, and sample supports.
The instrument incorporates an interface for the Quadra-Chek® digital readout (sold with comparator). Six-inch monochrome LCD display and Windows®-based interface provide user with a simple method of recording, storing, and analyzing measurement data. Data is easily transferred to PCs, networks, or printers. Measurement functions include point, line, radius, circle, angle, and minimum/maximum distances, as well as other complex parameters such as rotary axis and geometric tolerancing.
