Commercial Edition of Open-Xchange Server 5 Provides Industrial-Strength Collaborative Features

TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Oct. 25 // -- Open-Xchange Inc., the leading provider of open source collaboration software (http://www.open-xchange.com/), announced today that the commercial edition of its next-generation Open-Xchange Server 5 is now available for a free, 30-day trial.

Open-Xchange Server 5 provides critical collaborative functions such as e-mail, calendaring, contacts and task management -- fully integrated with advanced groupware features such as Documail, Smart Linking, Smart Permissions, document sharing, project tracking, user forums, and a knowledge base. Open-Xchange Server 5 works with the widest variety of browsers, mobile devices and "rich clients" such as Microsoft Outlook.

"The 30-day trial makes it easy for organizations to evaluate Open-Xchange Server 5 and see why Open-Xchange has attracted customers in more than 60 countries since its launch in April 2005," said Dan Kusnetzky, the company's Executive Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Strategy. "Open-Xchange Server makes it easy for people to collaborate with one another and improve overall organizational efficiency."

Open-Xchange Server 5 commercial edition includes an installation tool, a graphical administration module and documentation including user and administration manuals for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 environments.

The free trial of Open-Xchange Server 5 is for testing and evaluation, not full production; and organizations using Open-Xchange Server may not share the software with others. At the end of the 30 days, the organizations must purchase a license or remove the software.

Other Open-Xchange software, such as the Outlook OXtender and Palm OXtender also are available for 30-day free trial. Once they have registered, organizations will be provided with a 30-day access key to Open-Xchange's Maintenance Portal. The OXtenders may be downloaded from the maintenance portal.
