Hoffman's New 4-Post Open Frame Rack Secures and Supports the Heaviest Networking Equipment
Anoka, MN-November 20, 2002-Hoffman has announced three new patent pending DataCom 4-post open frame racks designed to provide the mounting security of a cabinet with the accessibility and affordability of an open frame rack. With a load rating of 2,500 lbs (1134 kg), the new 4-post racks were developed to securely accommodate heavier and/or deeper LAN/WAN equipment, voice/data equipment, routers, servers, and switches that may exceed the load rating of a standard 2-post rack.
Three models are available, in nominal frame heights of 6-ft. (1.8 m), 7-ft. (2.1 m) and 8-ft. (2.4 m), with 38, 45 and 51 rack unit sizes, respectively. The EIA RS-330-D standard racks are constructed of lightweight extruded aluminum ranging in weight from only 70 to 80 lbs (31.8 to 36.3 kg), offering a high strength-to-weight ratio. The racks are adjustable for depths between 450mm and 1050mm (17.7" to 41.3") in 25mm (0.98") increments, making them versatile to accommodate a variety of EIA standard 19" equipment. Hoffman 4-post open frame racks can be ganged with 2-post or additional 4-post racks to complete any application.
An extensive selection of Hoffman 19" standard rack and cabinet accessories is available to fulfill the requirements of an installation including shelves, cable management, joining and mounting kits and panel adapters. The 4-post rack features pre-drilled floor mounting holes, EIA universal 5/8" and 1/2" 12-24 equipment mounting holes, and a durable black polyester powder paint finish. The racks ship "flat packaged" for easy field assembly. All hardware and instructions are included.
