Op Amps achieve 410 MHz, 2200 V/us while consuming 2.5 mA.

Press Release Summary:

Teeny(TM) MIC923 achieves 2200 V/us slew-rate with 410 MHz gain-bandwidth product (GBW), and MIC922 achieves GBW of 230 MHz and slew-rate of 1500 V/us. Intended for signal buffering, MIC922 is unity-gain stable, and MIC923 is optimized for applications with gain of 2 or greater. Both are capable of driving unlimited capacitance. Manufactured in SC-70 packaging, op amps are specified for supply voltages of +/-2.5 V and +/-9 V. PSRR is 87dB, CMRR is 83dB, and AVOL is 86dB.

Micrel's Teeny(TM) Low-Power, High Gain-Bandwidth Op Amps Achieve 410MHz, 2200V/us while Consuming 2.5mA

- Higher speed, lower power consumption than competing devices
- Stable driving high capacitance loads
- Teeny(TM) SC70-5 packaging

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- (July 15, 2002) -- Tiny low-power, high gain-bandwidth operational amplifiers are now available from Micrel. The MIC923 achieves a 2200V/us slew-rate with a 410MHz gain-bandwidth product (GBW), and MIC922 achieves a GBW of 230MHz and slew-rate of 1500V/us. Micrel Semiconductor (NASDAQ: MCRL) is an industry leader in analog and broadband communications integrated circuits.

Intended for signal buffering, the MIC922 is unity-gain stable, and the MIC923 is optimized for applications with a gain of two or greater. The MIC923 is a decompensated version of the MIC922 -- reduced compensation results in higher speed for the same power consumption. To ensure stability, the MIC923 must be configured for a minimum gain of two. Both devices are capable of driving unlimited capacitance.

"The MIC910 through MIC916 were optimized for low power and high gain-bandwidth product, the MIC918 through MIC921 were similarly optimized for high slew-rate with the lowest power," said Scott Brown, Linear and RF Business Unit Manager. "The MIC922 and MIC923 combine the high gain-bandwidth product of the earlier devices with the high slew-rate of the newer parts while maintaining low power consumption."

Manufactured in SC-70 packaging. The MIC922 and MIC923 are both specified for supply voltages of +/-2.5V and +/-9V, PSRR is 87dB, CMRR is 83dB and AVOL is 86dB.
