Ontario Highway 407 Successfully Implements Intergraph®'s Smart Client Solution for Roadway Management

Intergraph geospatial solution expands 407 Express Toll Route highway operations management capabilities

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Ontario's Highway 407, also known as the 407 Express Toll Route, recently implemented Intergraph®'s GeoMedia® Smart Client solution to provide 407 ETR with a powerful and flexible solution for expanding the organization's enterprise geospatial capabilities for managing highway operations.

Intergraph's Smart Client technology enables 407 ETR to electronically create and assign work orders, and performs asset monitoring and inspection of 407 ETR's numerous sign assets. Smart Client also integrates into 407 ETR's existing enterprise asset management system to help manage its highway infrastructure.

"In choosing Smart Client, 407 ETR gains access to Intergraph's latest enterprise server technology," said Craig White, vice president, Highway Tolling Operations. "Smart Client ensures roadside activities are fully integrated with our centralized asset management and work management systems, providing real-time visibility into the conditions of our roadside assets."

Accessible from both in-office desktop computers and mobile devices in the field, Smart Client enables 407 ETR to incorporate aerial imagery of its highway networks, which span more than 100 kilometers, into one comprehensive system. Intergraph's solution allows for the scheduling and tracking of roadside tasks to better manage workflows and create a streamlined work management and asset management environment.
