OnSSI Announces Ocularis 5 VMS Integration with Samsung WiseNet Lite Series Cameras

Builds on Samsung API to Deliver Efficient, Enhanced Recording and Management Samsung WiseNet Lite Series Cameras OnSSI Ocularis

Anaheim, CA – OnSSI, the industry leader in Video Management System (VMS) solutions, announces a new integration between their Ocularis 5 VMS and Samsung Techwin America's new WiseNet Lite line of cameras. The integration leverages the capabilities of the Samsung Unified Network Application Programming Interface (SUNAPI), to enable control and management of surveillance video from WiseNet Lite cameras using the Ocularis 5 platform.

"This integration between Ocularis and the latest Samsung WiseNet Lite cameras provides end users with an extremely efficient and effective way to monitor, manage and view video from their surveillance system," said Ken LaMarca, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, OnSSI. "We are very excited to bring this cutting-edge solution to market with our partners at Samsung."

"OnSSI is a valued partner for their advanced VMS technology – Ocularis is the only VMS solution available that can decode and separate the analytics built into our WiseNet Lite cameras, and one of the few VMS capable of offering the Hallway View feature," said Tom Cook, Vice President, Sales, Samsung Techwin America. "This integration with our newest strategic camera offering helps us deliver new integrated capabilities that will bring even more value to our WiseNet Lite customers."

Samsung has implemented SUNAPI (Samsung Unified Network Application Programming Interface), a common API across their range of network products such as IP cameras, encoders, and network video recorders. SUNAPI makes it possible to release new cameras to customers much faster while maintaining a very deep-level integration. One API document can be used to reach all products. Commands are simple and straightforward, from configuring camera settings to retrieving device status, to searching for and retrieving video.

More information about SUNAPI is available at https://www.samsungsecuritypartner.com/usa_EN/Default.aspx.

Ocularis 5 is based on a new recorder and features automatic load balancing to manage recordings across system servers, which yields a significant increase in storage, all while reducing costs. It also allows for multiple recorders to be combined under the same Base (including legacy Ocularis 4.X recorders) with centralized user and event management.

Ocularis 5 is offered in three models: Professional, designed for organizations operating multiple locations with small to mid-sized camera counts; Enterprise, built for a wide range of mid to large IT-centric organizations; and Ultimate, created for large organizations with extended command and control needs along with recording server failover.
