ON Semiconductor Wins EDN China's "Best Product Award" for the NCP1605 Power Factor Correction Controller
SHENZHEN, China - Nov. 12, 2007 - ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN), a global leader in power semiconductor solutions, today announced that EDN China has presented the company with the "Best Product Award" for its NCP1605 power factor correction (PFC) controller in the power device and modules category of the magazine's Innovation Award 2007.
The NCP1605 PFC is an enhanced, high voltage and efficient standby mode power factor controller that can work in fixed frequency Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) and/or in Critical Conduction Mode (CRM). The device incorporates all the features necessary for building robust PFC stages. The NCP1605 can operate as a PFC master, ensuring that a power supply's second stage only starts up under safe conditions. In addition, it integrates the skip cycle capability to minimize standby losses. The NCP1605 enables the development of highly-efficient power supplies that meet emerging global energy efficiency and power factor standards, including high-power AC adapters, desktop PCs, flat-panel TVs and industrial power applications.
