Omni-Tract Surgical Introduces Speed-Tract(TM)

Faster, Cam-Assisted Set Up for Table-Mounted "Ring Retractors"

ST. PAUL, Minn., June 6 /- Omni-Tract Surgical, Inc., announced the introduction of their patented Speed-Tract(TM) system. The system is made up of just two parts; a cam-activated coupler mounted on a sterile field post, along with an equally friendly 360 degree adjustable cam-activated arm. Speed-Tract is designed to allow surgeons to set up their ring-type table mounted retractors, like Bookwalter® and equivalent retractors, with unprecedented speed and ease. Speed-Tract is uniquely designed with cam connections that make locking and unlocking 'as simple as flipping a light switch'.

"There is a large installed base of surgeons that use ring retractors," said Dan Reuvers, president of Omni-Tract Surgical. "Unfortunately, the methods to secure them over the surgical site has not changed for many years. They require the use of screw-type clamps that are only as secure as the strength of the person tightening them. Unlocking them can be similarly rigorous, making positioning adjustments challenging. Our goal in developing Speed-Tract was to preserve the familiarity the surgeon has with their ring retractor system, while enabling them to more easily position it in seconds. Based on the feedback we've heard from surgeons thus far, they appreciate the fact that we've made their set-up time faster and brought increased strength to the mounting system they've been using."

Speed-Tract(TM) is available through Omni-Tract Surgical and is designed to be compatible with most table-mounted ring retractor systems.
