OMAX® Corporation to Spotlight Waterjet Precision and Versatility at FABTECH

Attendees to experience the most advanced abrasive waterjet technology on the market

KENT, Wash. – At FABTECH 2014, taking place Nov. 11 – 13 in Atlanta, Georgia, OMAX Corporation will showcase the many benefits of advanced abrasive waterjet technology in booth B3361. The company will demonstrate the speed, accuracy and versatility of its OMAX 80X and MAXIEM 1530 JetMachining® Centers as they cut a variety of materials and thicknesses.

Ideal for cutting large-scale components or multiple-part projects from exotic alloys, metals, composites and more, the 80X is a robust, reliable system that requires minimal maintenance. The company will power this bridge-style machine with the industry’s first 100-hp direct-drive pump with EnduroMAX® technology that delivers higher JetPower, faster speeds and better cut quality over competitive intensifier designs.

Show attendees will experience how the Tilt-A-Jet® cutting head accessory enables the 80X to achieve zero taper with no reduction in cutting speed for the precision cutting of parts with square, taper-free edges, including interlocking pieces and dovetail fittings. They will also see how the optional Rotary Axis allows the 80X to have 6-axis cutting capabilities to create accurate complex 3D parts from pre-existing CAD drawings or DXF files.

Perfect for job shops and metal service centers, the all-new 1530 will represent the company’s next generation line of MAXIEM machines. Building on the cost-effective, yet high-performance technology of their predecessors, these latest models offer enhanced durability, improved performance, and faster production times for an overall increase in productivity and profitability. The company will pair the 1530 with a highly efficient 40-hp direct-drive pump and optional A-Jet® multi-axis cutting head to demonstrate how easy it is to cut beveled edges, angled sides and countersinks. The A-Jet also compensates for taper and creates 3D complex shapes.

OMAX Corporation will also spotlight its new highly advanced computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software tool, Intelli-CAM, which further simplifies the cutting of complex, precision parts. The Intelli-CAM software interfaces directly with the company’s intuitive Intelli-MAX® Software Suite and easily generates 3D tool paths from solid 3D models as well as quickly performs 3D to 2D file conversions.

Through its OMAX and MAXIEM product portfolios, OMAX Corporation offers the broadest range of table sizes, pumps, accessories and software on the market - all backed by an unbeatable support program. Moreover, the company’s abrasive waterjet technology provides a flexible and beneficial alternative to conventional machining operations.
