Attendees to experience advanced and affordable abrasive waterjet technology
KENT, Wash. – At HOUSTEX 2015 on Feb. 24-26, OMAX Corporation will showcase the many benefits of advanced abrasive waterjet technology. The company will demonstrate the speed, accuracy and versatility of its MAXIEM 1530 JetMachining® Center by cutting a variety of materials and thicknesses in booth #1029 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
OMAX first introduced its MAXIEM line in 2009. Since then, the brand has proven its ability to meet customer demands for cost-efficient, industry-leading waterjet cutting technology. At the show, the all-new 1530 will represent the company’s next generation line of MAXIEM machines that continues the tradition of easy-to-use and reliable abrasive waterjet machines designed and built in the United States.
At HOUSTEX, the company will pair the 1530 with an optional A-Jet® multi-axis cutting head. The A-Jet, which adds two motion axes for complete five axis machining, makes it easy to cut beveled edges, angled sides, 3D shapes, and countersinks while compensating for taper.
MAXIEM machines are equipped with OMAX’s industry leading Intelli-TRAX™ linear drive system that utilizes brushless servo motors, integrated servo drives and high precision linear encoders that provide constant and continuous feedback on the actual cutting head position. In addition to increased part cutting accuracy, the advanced drive system delivers much faster and smoother motion.
MAXIEM machines build on OMAX’s 20 years of direct-drive pump technology with the 50,000-psi pump that includes Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technology that regulates the electricity input to the motor to reduce overall energy costs. The pumps deliver high nozzle horsepower, or JetPower™ for more cutting power per kilowatt than intensifier-type pumps, which increases operating efficiencies. The pumps are available in 20-, 30- and 40-horsepower versions for MAXIEM machines, with a DualPUMP package also available that boosts the horsepower to 80.
The new all-in-one Windows® 8 controllers on the MAXIEM machines come pre-loaded with the powerful OMAX Intelli-MAX® Software Suite and feature large 23-inch display screens that provide easy viewing of part files and tool paths. The Intelli-MAX software makes it easy to generate complex geometries and produce quality parts from virtually any type of material. The software is extremely user friendly for both the novice operator and the skilled machinist. The software also features Intelli-VISOR®, OMAX’s system monitoring for predictive machine maintenance capability.
OMAX® Corporation designs and manufactures the world’s most advanced abrasive waterjet technology in a variety of table sizes and price points at its headquarters in Kent, Washington. Backed by unmatched support and powered by the company’s intuitive control software, OMAX JetMachining® Centers and MAXIEM® JetCutting Centers bring affordable performance to a continuously expanding range of industries.
