Olympus Introduces New Software for the OmniScan iX Industrial Ultrasonic Flaw Detector

The OmniScan iX Gains RPS705 Certification.

Olympus is pleased to introduce the new iXU 2.1 software release for the OmniScan iX industrial ultrasonic flaw detector system that is designed for high speed nondestructive testing of industrial components. This newly revised software improves the overall ease of use of the system with a redesigned intuitive graphical that includes shortcut keys and touch screen features. The improved TCG curve (Time Corrected Gain) now allows up to 32 points, negative values, and combines a linear material attenuation function. A new immersion ruler has also been added to simultaneously monitor the water column and its position in relation to the material. Additional features include a degree scale for scan axis, an External pace trig mode, increased digitalization frequency, and improved stability and performance. The iXU 2.1 is now available for download and installation at www.olympus-ims.com.

Olympus is also pleased to announce that the OmniScan iX with iXU 2.1 software has now gained official RPS705 (Ultrasonic Inspection of Disc Forms) certification. A copy of the official announcement is available at www.olympus-ims.com. Rolls-Royce has also included the OmniScan iX in its Quality Control Test procedure (QTCP) #6265, which is available only on the Rolls-Royce Web site.
