OLSM Equips Fleet with Iridium® Satcoms for Low-Cost Efficient Crew Calling

BETHESDA, Md. - March 15, 2007 - -sterreichischer Lloyd Ship Management (-LSM) is fitting its fleet of ships with Iridium® satellite terminals to take advantage of Iridium's enhanced low-cost crew calling services.

One Net Ltd is supplying and installing the Sailor SC 4000 Iridium maritime terminals under a service agreement with Stratos.

The -LSM ships will use the Iridium terminals for cost-effective crew calling using prepaid individual PIN codes, and as backup communications for ship's business. The system automatically separates the charges for crew calls from ship's calls to facilitate onboard accounting for satellite costs.

"Iridium's crew calling service provides a very cost-effective way for crew members to keep in touch with family and friends when away from home," said Gregoris Gregoriou, managing director of One Net Ltd.

"Iridium's universal coverage over all of the world's waterways and low-cost service plans makes it increasingly the first choice of shipping fleets for satellite crew calling and other ship-to-shore communications," said Greg Ewert, executive vice president, Iridium Satellite. "Iridium continues to gain market share in satellite crew calling. During 2006, the number of ships using Iridium's prepaid crew calling service increased by more than 43 percent."
