OKi, ALPINE and Runcom Disclosing at CES-Las Vegas the World's First WiMAX Compatible Navigation System for Vehicles

CES-Las Vegas/USA- January 6th, 2008: Oki
Electric Industry, Co., Ltd., the leading Japanese
electronic equipment manufacturer and Alpine
Electronics Inc, Japan's leading manufacturer of
in-car audio equipment, mobile multimedia
components and in-car navigation systems joined
forces with Runcom Technologies Ltd, the pioneer in
OFDMA® enabling technologies for Mobile WiMAX.
The three companies will demonstrate the world's first
car navigation system with streaming content based
on Mobile WiMAX technology at Runcom's booth
(Sands 72702) at International CES 2008 in Las
Vegas from January 7th to 10th.

The companies worked closely for the past several
months to develop a Mobile WiMAX in-vehicle
navigation system with embedded broadband wireless
communications capabilities to enable the system to
upload information such as road maps, attractions,
near by events and additional Location Based
Services, to report car maintenance status and failures
and many other broadband IP applications.

will add its share to the mobile WiMAX ecosystem with
the compact-flash cards and in-vehicle navigation
system which will enable users with new and exciting

Alpine is interested in a new car navigation system
with mobile WiMAX communication technology and
