Tough New M180 OEM Flow Switch Designed for Corrosive Fluids

Ideal For Chemical, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Food/Beverage, Hydrocarbon, and Pharmaceutical Equipment and Systems

San Marcos, CA-November 16, 2005--With its no moving part, thermal mass flow sensor and wetted materials available in either CPVC/Hastelloy C-22 or 316SS/Hastelloy C-22 combinations, the compact M180 Flow Switch from Fluid Components International is the ideal OEM flow switch solution for equipment flowing, dispensing or measuring corrosive fluids such as Chlorine.

Manufacturers of analytical equipment, filtration systems, blending systems, additive dispensers and more will find the M180 Flow Switch provides precision gas or liquid flow monitoring, control and alarm switching. The M180 switch can also be applied as a level or interface detection and alarm for harsh fluids. It is ideal for use in equipment applied in a wide range of industries, including chemical, food/beverage, hydrocarbon production, pharmaceutical, water and wastewater treatment and more.

The M180 Flow Switch features a precision thermal mass flow sensor, which provides direct mass flow measurement and all units are temperature compensated for exceptional installation repeatability and reliability. The flow sensor is enclosed in a rugged package that is designed for long-life in corrosive environments. Pigtail or M12 connectors are provided for the sensor's output or power connections. With its no-moving parts design, thermal mass flow sensor technology, rugged construction and low cost, equipment design engineers can confidently specify the new M180 Flow Switch when high repeatability and low maintenance are prime considerations. The M180's sensor element is fully sealed, with no orifices to plug or foul to further ensure long and dependable operation in even the dirtiest of media and plant conditions.

Unlike mechanical float sensors that frequently break down, the M180 Flow Switch offers a minimally invasive sensor design, with no orifices to plug or foul, that ensures virtually maintenance free continuous operation. It measures accurately and effectively in clean media, dirty media and even slurry or foaming applications. Its two highly stable platinum RTD sensors are mounted in fully sealed, miniature thermowells that ensure long and dependable operation in even the dirtiest of media and plant conditions. Its miniature sensor design ensures both fast-response and superior repeatability under all process conditions. With a mean time between failure (MTBF) rating calculated to exceed 60,000 hours of service, the M180 Flow Switch delivers unmatched reliability and long-life that will minimize maintenance costs and increase the equipment user's long term satisfaction.

More than seven (7) different, standard configurations are available to match specific OEM design criteria. Further, FCI can create custom sensor and packaging designs to meet any OEM specifications and requirements for any process media, line size, installation environment, temperature, pressure, calibration and output signals.

Sensor designs comply with industry standards, including CE, FM, ATEX, CSA and more. FCI is an ISO9001:2000 and AS9100 manufacturer.

FCI maintains a world-class, NIST traceable flow calibration facility that provides total accuracy and performance assurance for its products. The flow laboratory supports design validation testing as well as calibration of production products for virtually all gas and liquid media in pipe sizes from 0.25 to 36 inches. The systems accommodate flow rates from 0.01 to 3700 SCFM (0.02 to 6300 NCMH) over various pressures ranging from 0 to 1000 psig (0 to 69 bar) and temperature conditions from -50 to 800ºF (-46 to 427ºC).

Fluid Components International is a global company committed to meeting the needs of its customers through innovative solutions to the most challenging requirements for sensing, measuring and controlling the flow and level of air, gases and liquids.
