ODNR Delaware Wildlife Solar LED Parking Lot Lights

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife (DOW), using monies generated from the Boater-Angler Fund (a state tax on fuel that motorboat users pay to provide better access to Ohio's waterways), recently completed an extensive overhaul of the Delaware Lake east boat ramp to better serve the angling and boating public.  The old deteriorated ramp and abutment, which was built in the 1960's, was replaced with a new wider, more visible ADA accessible abutment and a ramp with v-grooves to improve traction.

With no ready access to AC power, ODNR purchased and installed two SEPCO off-grid solar power lighting systems to allow anglers and boaters the opportunity to use the new ramp at night.  Two high performance Cruzer LED light fixtures, which together do an excellent job illuminating the boat ramp and surrounding parking spaces, are powered by a completely off-grid 340 Watt solar power system that is meticulously designed to provide ultra-reliable power to the lights 7 nights a week, 365 nights year.  The off-grid solar lights will save money by providing consistent lighting and power with no additional electrical costs to the park.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR Web site at www.ohiodnr.com.
