O-Ring Fluorosilicone Elastomers work down to -100°F.

Press Release Summary:

Functional in temperatures to +350°F, fluorosilicone seal materials LM158-60, LM159-70, and LM160-80 are resistant to petroleum-based oils, greases, and fuels. They are formulated to exhibit short-term rebound resilience and meet aerospace and automotive application requirements. Able to be used in fire-resistant synthetic hydrocarbon hydraulic fluids in static applications, materials minimize tearing of O-rings during installation and promote use of automated assembly.

Original Press Release:

O-Ring Fluorosilicone Elastomers Provide Extreme Low Temperature Performance and Outstanding Fuel and Oil Resistance

January 26, 2007 - Parker Seal Group's O-Ring Division now offers three fluorosilicone seal materials, LM158-60, LM159-70, and LM160-80, to meet the needs of multiple applications in the aerospace and automotive markets.

These materials have outstanding low temperature properties, with functional temperatures ranging from -100°F to +350°F (-73°C to +177°C). LM158-60, LM159-70 and LM160-80 also provide excellent resistance to petroleum-based oils, greases, and fuels. In addition, these fluorosilicone O-rings are used in fire-resistant synthetic hydrocarbon hydraulic fluids in static applications, especially those used at low temperatures.

Historically, fluorosilicones have not offered good short-term rebound resilience. Parker's new LM158-60, LM159-70, and LM160-80 fluorosilicone compounds exhibit dramatic improvements in this area with results that can easily be observed. With this improvement, these three materials allow for decreased incidence of torn O-rings during installation and makes automated assembly more feasible.

Parker O-Ring Division products are at the leading edge of elastomer technology. Parker O-Ring Division offers a broad spectrum of materials for aerospace and automotive sealing applications ranging from the chemically resistant, low temperature fluorosilicones, to a variety of premium elastomeric sealing materials.

Throughout every phase of the process, and for whatever extremes an application demands, Parker O-Ring Division has the products to meet the Aerospace and Automotive industries sealing requirements. Whether it is an "off-the-shelf" industrial standard or a material in a custom size developed to customer specifications, our commitment to service is designed to minimize downtime. In addition to O-Rings Parker O-Ring Division offers ParBak(TM) anti-extrusion rings, installation lubricants and O-Ring assembly and removal tools. Our manufacturing plants are TS 16949 and AS 9100 registered.
