MPC Computers Introduces the TransPort T3200 Notebook Computer
The Best of the Old and New: The Latest Technology & Performance With Support for Legacy Ports
NAMPA, Idaho, April 24 / / -- MPC Computers, a wholly owned subsidiary of HyperSpace Communications, Inc. (AMEX:HCO), today announced the TransPort® T3200 notebook computer. This new system offers the latest in high-performance technology, along with support for legacy features.
The notebook's Intel 945PM chipset supports 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory, Intel® Core(TM) Duo mobile processor technology, and the ATI Mobility(TM) Radeon® X1600 graphics card. Intel Core Duo technology provides improved system performance by running multiple tasks simultaneously, and the enhanced graphics card utilizes dedicated video memory to ensure peak performance for graphics-intensive programs.
In addition, the TransPort T3200 notebook supports legacy features such as parallel, serial and PS2 ports, which allow users to use their existing peripherals such as printers, scanners, keyboards and mice. The new system is also backwards compatible with the previous TransPort 3000 notebook series' port replicator. The full-featured port replicator eliminates the need for additional cables to connect monitors, keyboards and mice.
The TransPort T3200 also includes integrated multi-level security features such as the Biometric Fingerprint Scanner, Smart Card Reader, and Trusted Platform Module, all ensuring greater overall system protection. Other security enhancements to the notebook include an optional Global Positioning System (GPS) module and a tool-less removable hard drive. The GPS/GPRS option allows users to track and recover the notebook in case of theft, and the tool-less removable hard drive enables users to easily remove and store confidential hard drive data in a secure environment.

a choice between an optical drive, additional battery, second hard
drive or an air-bay, while the bridge battery feature enables users to
hot-swap primary batteries while the system is powered on.

Standard Service & Support
The TransPort T3200 includes three years of depot repair service, replacement parts and technical support as part of the standard configuration. Up to five years of depot repair service, replacement parts and technical support is available at an additional cost.
Optional Services
Advanced Portable Exchange
Customers can quickly restore their notebook functionality with MPC's innovative Advanced Portable Exchange service. If MPC Technical Support determines a customer's notebook shell needs to be replaced, MPC will ship the replacement shell to the customer on the next business day, anywhere in the continental U.S., excluding the Customer Replaceable Units (CRUs). Examples of CRUs include the floppy drive, optical drive, hard drive and battery. Furthermore, the replacement notebook will have the same serial number as the original notebook, allowing customers to maintain consistency within their asset management records.
SystemSat
SystemSat provides the highest level of protection for MPC notebooks. This service provides for system repairs and replacements due to any covered accidental damage such as drops, liquid spills, cracked screens, or fire.
