The ThinkPad R40e notebook is designed to the Wired for Management 2.0 and PXE 2.0 manageability requirements for mobile systems.

The ThinkPad R40e notebook works right out of the box. Productivity and ease of use are enhanced for novices as well as experienced users. Ergonomic features include:
o Access IBM button launches Access IBM: Access the online help (requires Internet access, not included) and on-system information you need to help you set up, learn about, and enhance your ThinkPad notebook.
o Access Connections manages your connectivity environments by saving the settings for wired and wireless connections, if applicable, and easily switching between them.

2 The V.90 modem can receive data at up to 56 Kbps from a compatible service provider and transmit data at up to 31.2 Kbps. Public networks currently limit maximum download speeds to about 53 Kbps. Actual speeds depend on many factors and are often less than the maximum possible.
3 Public network download speeds are limited to 53 Kbps. Upload speeds are limited to 48 Kbps for V.92 modems. Actual speeds depend on many factors and are often less than the maximum possible. V.92 functions and speeds require compatible phone line and server equipment, and download of V.92 support device driver when available.
