Nosco Buys Second MPS Press for its Carrollton, Texas, Facility

GREEN BAY, WIS. – MPS Systems North America, Inc. (MPS) has announced Nosco has purchased and installed an MPS EF press for its Carrollton, Texas, facility. This is the second EF press Nosco has purchased in the past three years.

Nosco is a full-service packaging solutions provider serving more than 350 customers in the pharmaceutical, medical device, contract manufacturing/packaging, animal health, natural health, biotech and over-the-counter markets. With more than 75 years of experience, the company brings business resources and technical expertise together to deliver customized solutions to its customers.

According to Denny McGee, president of MPS America, Nosco purchased a 17” eight-color EF press that includes an automatic unwind and rewind system from Kocher Beck. The EF is MPS’ flagship press. It is a highly automated, multi-substrate flexo press that excels at label production and flexible packaging printing, and is known for its superior print quality, automation features, ease of operation and flexibility.

“Three years ago we went on a year-long research project to find the best press technology for our Carrollton plant,” said Brad Elledge, director of Continuous Improvement at Nosco. “MPS blew us away because they delivered what they said they would in each phase of our testing: a press with exceptionally tight registration that holds through speed changes and no bar marking. MPS has thought differently. They are printing against a free-wheeling, hard-durable rubber impression roll so they’ve eliminated pacing issues and minimized dot gain.”

Known worldwide for the quality and added value of its presses, MPS has been making an impact in North America since 2014 when company officials announced a strategic focus on the United States and Canada. Since then, MPS has formed a partnership with EMT International in Green Bay for the assembly of printing presses in North America and has built a strong North American service and sales organization.
