Northrop Grumman Supplies Integrated Bridge Systems for New Ships in Turkey

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Aug. 10, 2006 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Sperry Marine business unit continues to expand its order book for integrated bridge systems (IBSs) with contracts for four new ships to be built in Turkey.
Sperry Marine will supply the complete suite of electronic navigation and communication systems for the four 3,600 deadweight ton specialty tankers, which will be constructed at the Yardimci shipyard for Danish shipowner, The Clipper Group. This is a follow-on contract for two similar ships built last year.
The scope of supply will encompass the complete IBS, including X- and S-Band BridgeMaster E radars, adaptive autopilot, gyro and magnetic compasses, Doppler speed log and electronic chart display and information system running on Sperry Marine's proprietary Voyage Management System software. It will also include a communications suite in compliance with the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System requirements.
The Clipper Group ships contracts are the latest in a string of IBS orders for Sperry Marine from Turkish shipyards. Last year, Sperry Marine had more than 14 orders for new builds in Turkey.
