North Carolina Convenience Store Chain to Implement RedPrairie Software

Milwaukee: RedPrairie Corp. has announced that E.J. Pope & Son Inc., operator of Handy Mart convenience stores, has purchased RedPrairies BlueCube Enterprise Software for mid-sized convenience store retailers.

Handy Mart will implement the Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Learning Management, Time and Attendance, and Scheduling solutions in all 43 locations. The solution will help Handy Mart improve labor cost, inventory management and customer service.

The RedPrairie solution will provide Handy Mart with the necessary information to identify trends, analyze customer buying behavior, optimize inventory levels and react quickly to changes at the sites. The implementation will revolutionize store operations by enabling store, field, and corporate managers to manage by exception.

They will rely on BlueCube Enterprise alerts to notify them that operational challenges exist and need to be resolved. The scheduling solution will enable Handy Mart to efficiently schedule labor to improve service while reducing cost.

"We were to the point that we needed a cost effective way to improve the efficiency of our supply chain," says Judson Pope, E.J. Pope & Son, Inc.s president. "RedPrairie's subscription model allows us to implement back office technology affordably by reducing our up front costs. We are certain that this effort will allow us to improve our customer service and result in increased profitability".

David Bunch, vice president of operations adds, "We're excited about implementing RedPrairie's integrated features of store level forecasted ordering, time and attendance, and electronic employee scheduling to reduce costs in those areas, and we will use the learning management and e-Courses to quickly deliver training to employees so we can realize rapid adoption of these features."

"We're pleased to offer our solution to mid-size convenience store retailers so they can realize the return on investment that large chains have seen with their adoption of the RedPrairie BlueCube Enterprise solution," states Kevin Saum, VP and GM of Back Office Store solutions for RedPrairie.

Saum continues, "Integrating to Verifone's Sapphire allows us to take advantage of its true open system architecture and allows us access to richer data, enabling us to implement forecasted ordering, item level inventory control and full electronic replenishment at E.J. Pope and Son."
