Gates TruMotion Belt Reduces Dust, Noise On Precision Drives
Gates new PowerGrip® TruMotion® belt is engineered for drives requiring precision, cleanliness and reduced noise levels.
The small-pitch, non-marking belt is tailored for equipment designers in market segments such as medical instrumentation, office automation, electronics, and banking. Typical consumer and business equipment applications include data storage devices, printers, plotters, medical apparatus, food processors, money handling machines, copiers and other office equipment.
Among other design features, Gates PowerGrip TruMotion belt has a nylon tooth surface that reduces dust accumulation, and provides a durable wear surface for long service life and lower noise levels.
Gates testing reports that the belt has 4.5 times less dust generation than a neoprene belt. This is a significant advantage to machine users where cleanliness, and the risk of dust and debris contamination are critical operating conditions.
The belt is available with three tooth profile options -- timing, HTD and a performance-oriented curvilinear profile -- that offer exact meshing characteristics for improved registration and the elimination of tooth slip.
Hardened fiberglass tensile cords provide high flex life, and resistance to elongation, while the cream-colored, polymer compound body is clean running and is capable of handling temperature extremes from -40° F to +220° F. Gates PowerGrip TruMotion belt is also RoHS compliant.
