Necotek Solutions Provides Non-Flammable "Necosolv" Solvent Systems
New solvents include binders to allow for easy, non-flammable custom suspensions with virtually any powder or other solute.
Oak Ridge, -- Necotek announces two non-flammable solvent systems that are both safer due to low toxicity and “greener” than any standard solvent system available today: Necosolv O-wb and Necosolv VB-wb.

Necosolv O-wb properties include: non-Hazardous Air Pollutant (non-HAP), has no Ozone Depleting Potential (no ODP), low Global Warming Potential (low GWP), less than 50% VOC, no flash point observed (non-flammable), fast-evaporating, boiling point of 60º C, moderate solvency power, Kauri-Butanol (K-B) value of 56. The proprietary binders (suspension agents) in these solvents allow users to very easily create a suspension that can be used to apply adherent layers to most any surface, which can be used to virtually any temperature after drying.
Since the solvents used in Necosolv are inert, they work with most any powder addition – including waterreactive powders. Suspensions made from these solvents are suitable for use in an aerosol spray-can with non-flammable propellants (such as 1234ze or 134a) to yield a totally non-flammable aerosol.
