AMTECH Makes a Splash with NoVOC(TM): the Water-Based No-Clean Liquid Flux that's Safe, Economical and Environmentally Friendly

unique water-based, no-clean liquid flux for use in wave soldering; a formula which is safe, environmentally friendly and highly cost effective.
A low solids liquid flux, NoVOC contains no rosins, no resins, and no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). NoVOC improves solder joint reliability, and reduces the
risk of rework and scrapped boards, since it leaves no insulating residue on test pads or conductive pads, and does not cause interference with ICT. This no-clean formula also saves time, labor and expense by eliminating the need for wash-up, since any residual flux residues are non-corrosive and halide-free. NoVOC flux also features low surface tension, resulting in excellent wetting prior to wave soldering
double sided or multi-layer boards. NoVOC no-clean flux is ideal for PC board assemblies containing sensitive sliding swithes, and/or conductive carbon pads. In many cases, these applications would have insulating and/or compatibility problems if RMA solvents or low solids rosin fluxes were used. Assemblies properly
processed with NoVOC no-clean flux achieve better SIR values as set by Bellcore TR-NWT-00078 and J-STD-004.
With water as the main ingredient, NoVOC liquid flux is inherently more economical to manufacture than rosinbased fluxes. As a non-hazardous material, NoVOC is more
easily transported. This environmentally friendly formula is also safe to use since it contains no irritants.
NoVOC flux is available in 1 gallon, 5 gallon and 55 gallon containers. It can be applied by spraying or dipping. When required, NoVOC can be diluted using deionized water.
