Original Press Release:

Perten Instruments Releases the DA 7200 2nd Generation Diode Array Based NIR Analyzer

Perten Instruments is proud to introduce its 2nd generation diode array based NIR analysis system. The DA 7200 is ideal for the measurement of grains, feeds, foods, pellets, and pastes for constituents such as moisture, protein, fat/oil, fibre, sugar, and many others.

The DA 7200 is designed for analysis of many types of raw materials and finished products. The samples are presented to the instrument in open sample dishes, in full ambient light and require no sample preparation. With the ultra fast spectra collection - 3 seconds - and easy Pour & Place Sampling, the total analysis time is 10 seconds - including loading the sample and emptying the dish. The standard rotating sample dish, 140 mm in diameter, provides a representative analysis of inhomogeneous products and flexibility for different sample quantities and types. The DA 7200's open faced dishes are easier to use than the expensive, speciality cups used by many other instruments, and eliminate error sources and inaccuracy caused by sample cups. Since there is no contact between sample and the DA 7200 changes between products to analyse is extremely simple and rapid.

Numerous added features include integration of an emission source to automatically monitor wavelength accuracy and stability, an automated referencing system, Windows XP software, demonstrated calibration transfer, built-in computer for stand-alone operation, USB/LAN connectivity, 256 pixel array, user exchangeable lamps with pre-focused spare in instrument, and a USB removable data storage device. The many standard features and enhancements provide a truly superior and accurate analyser.

The DA 7200 is based on Diode Array technology with no moving optical components. This eliminates the need for wavelength alignment and makes the DA 7200 robust enough to withstand harsh production environments - where instruments are of the greatest value. An automated reference flag ensures accuracy and stability. Simplicity, the 2 Button Analysis Software, was developed in cooperation with users. For routine analysis one clicks on a product key, enters sample ID (if required) and presses the analysis key. Multi-component results are displayed in 3 seconds on the standard Touch Screen.

The Perten Instruments Group provides tools for content measurement and quality control in the grain, milling, feed and food industries. These tools include near-infrared analysers, laboratory mills, single kernel analysers, and instruments that characterise gluten and starch quality for the milling industry.
