Nico Products Electroless Nickel Plating Services

Electroless nickel plating (also called EN plating) is a popular choice when looking to protect industrial parts from corrosion and wear. One of the main benefits of electroless nickel plating is that it does not use an electrical current to facilitate the plating process; allowing for a very uniform deposit and tighter controls of the deposit thickness. In addition, with the proper pre-plate catalyst, the Electroless Nickel plating process can be used on non-conductive surfaces.

"Electroless Nickel Plating is one of the best coating choices to insure parts have superior corrosion protection and wear resistance," says Nico's Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael Battaglia. "At The Lindgren Group, our ability to plate Electroless Nickel on a variety of metallic substrates differentiates us in the marketplace and we are continuously adding capabilities. Each of these substrates requires unique processing expertise to insure proper deposit characteristics and adhesion. In addition to plating on Steel, Aluminum Alloys, Aluminum Die Castings, Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper, Tool Steel and Zinc Die Castings we are finalizing a process to plate on Magnesium Die Castings. We offer Medium and High Phos Electroless Nickel, Co-Deposited Electroless Nickel with PTFE Teflon and Black Electroless Nickel. As markets change and our customers come to us with new requirements, we will continue to support them through innovation and exceptional service."

Other advantages of EN plating are:

o Plating thickness can be precisely controlled via immersion time.

o Complex jigs or racks are not required.

o Ability to plate in deep recesses, blind holes or complex shapes.

o Matte, Semi Bright or Bright finishes can be obtained.

o Corrosion protection for most metals and metal alloys

o Hardness and wear resistance comparable to hard chrome

o Porous free coating for superior corrosion protection

o Natural lubricity for good mold release.

o Good wear resistance.

o Solderability
