Red-Ray Manufacturing Introduces the MR-12Ni Infrared Burner

Red-Ray's new MR-12Ni nickel plated infrared radiant burner addresses the food industry's need for a durable, corrosion resistant, gas-fired process heater.

The MR-12Ni was launched in response to concerns for increased durability amid the use of corrosive cleaning agents in food processing plants. This new IR burner was developed around the existing 5" x 12" MR-12 burner, well known for its cast iron body and porous metallic foam emitter. Red-Ray still uses these features but incorporates innovations specific to the new MR-12Ni. These include a stainless steel frame that surrounds the edge of the metallic foam emitter and plating that encases the cast iron body in a protective layer of corrosion resistant nickel. Also new to the MR-12Ni is its stainless steel hold down mechanism that securely locks the frame to the body, avoiding the use of fasteners that may become damaged from prolonged exposure to heat. This also provides for a rapid change out of the emitter during scheduled maintenance.

Red-Ray Manufacturing Company Inc. produces gas-fired infrared burners in its manufacturing facility in Branchburg, NJ.
