Newest Generation of COOL-BIND® Adhesives for Bookbinding Offers High Performance, Wide Operating Window

BRIDGEWATER, NJ, October 16, 2007 - National Adhesives introduces its newest generation of COOL-BIND® 2 technology for bookbinding, which provides binding operations with the machining advantages of low temperature adhesives without compromising on tough end-use requirements.

The broad range of products in the COOL-BIND 2 family give bookbinders the option of selecting the adhesive properties that perfectly align with their customers' needs. COOL-BIND 2 adhesives run at 275°F, which greatly reduces char and keeps equipment running smoothly with less maintenance and energy consumption. The lower temperature adhesives also reduce heat applied to the paper stock, reducing the likelihood of wrinkling, and have fast setting times and low VOC emissions.

While some low-temperature adhesives on the market fall short on resistance to extreme cold or hot temperatures, all the adhesives in the COOL-BIND 2 product line meet National Adhesives' very high performance standards and provide operating windows as wide as would be expected from conventional 350°F hot melt adhesives.

The new COOL-BIND 2 family includes three product ranges: Series 1000, the standard product designed for basic applications; Series 2000, designed for versatile operations on a wide range of equipment and end-use requirements; and Series 3000, which provides ultimate strength and adhesion for the most demanding applications with performance characteristics similar to most adhesives designed to run at 350°F.
