New Wilson® Hardness Converter Application

Wilson Instruments, an Instron® company and the originator of the Rockwell® Hardness Tester, is pleased to announce its new Wilson Hardness Converter application now available in the iTunes Application store!

This application is free and simple to use as a reference tool for converting between popular scales to measure the hardness of metallic materials. Some featured hardness scales are Rockwell, Vickers, Knoop, and Brinell - all of which are used to find tensile strength, wear resistance, ductibility, and other physical characteristics. A hidden 'swap' feature designed to make comparisons is embedded in the equal sign once you have set up the conversion you want. For example, if you were to compare HRD to HRK, you can simply press the equal sign and the conversion will swap to HRK=HRD as opposed to HRD=HRK. Also, this application has the ability to provide cylindrical correction for when you would need to provide the specimen's scale, hardness, and diameter.

Some additional future features of this application include showcasing product information such as part numbers, downloadable PDFs, and additional conversions. In the meantime, if you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, all contact information is available on the application itself, which includes the Wilson Instruments phone number, email, and new website - www.wilsoninstruments.com.
