Fascan Introduces Stronger, Lighter Wallboard Crane at Dealer Open House

U.S. Fassi dealers tested the company’s new F375SE.14 at Fascan’s Baltimore demo

(Baltimore, Md) — Fascan International unveiled the Fassi F375SE.14, the company’s newest wallboard crane, at a dealer demo on April 3rd at Fascan headquarters in Baltimore. Fascan is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Fassi articulating cranes.

Dealers and technicians from across the U.S. had an opportunity to operate the new crane and inspect the various features of the machine, which arrived in the U.S market in March of 2019.

Adding strength, losing weight

The 7-story F375SE.14 has a maximum lifting capacity of more than 7,900 lbs., a vertical reach of 84’ and a horizontal reach of more than 72’. It features an extension on the main boom and 4 extensions on the outer boom, allowing operators to extend the boom vertically to 38’ with a load before knuckling over and extending it to its full reach.

Another enhancement on the F375SE is that the inner boom can be extended at any angle. On previous load charts, the inner boom angle could only be extended after the boom was above 45 degrees.

These features offer unique benefits to the operation of unloading and distributing stacks of wallboard over obstacles in a variety of situations.

The F375SE.14 and its F375SE.13 counterpart also feature a ten-sided boom, which increases the overall strength and stability of the boom when compared to a traditional diamond-shaped structure.

It also incorporates stronger steel into the boom structure which allows for a lighter overall design without affecting the crane’s maximum lift. This increases the overall vehicle payload and enables operators to carry more and make fewer trips to and from a jobsite.

Dealers and technicians were given a tour of these and other features:

  • Top seat with digital CANbus joysticks
  • Digital radio remote
  • A “black box” option to record alarm codes and other performance metrics
  • 420-degree rotation
  • Zone controls to prevent the boom from moving beyond zones fully supported by outriggers
  • LED safety features on outriggers

The perfect fit for construction

This new crane provides owners and operators with the perfect combination of lift and reach capacity for the most popular types of construction projects without having to buy “too much crane” says Chris Lowery, Fascan’s wallboard crane specialist.

“The building industry is looking to get every foot and every pound it can out of its lifting equipment,” says Lowery. “And the F375SE.14 is going to allow contractors to do so with ease.”
